Gladiator-style heels are a strong trend right now but I only glance at most of them longingly. The logical portion of my brain knows that most of them are only wearable for upwards of 5 minutes. They’re either too high for me to totter more than a block, or the endless amount of straps are bound to become mini torture chamber devices.
A recent perusal at DSW unearthed a potentially “wearable” shoe with a 3” heel. Additionally, the leather was soft and supple, giving me hope that blisters weren’t in my near-future. My one reservation was that I wasn’t familiar with the Brand. Since the shoes were a reasonable price - $69.95 marked down from $115.00 – I was willing to take a chance.
I took them for a trial run in Atlantic City last week and I wasn’t disappointed. No blisters, and the balls of my feet weren’t begging for mercy after 5 hours of wear. There’s just enough padding in the sole for a few hours of comfortable, stylish wear.
