Sony Active Headphones – Comfort, Style & Value

Posted by: Kristen // April 06 2010

Are you like me when it comes to music gear – forgetful, careless, or oblivious to the dangers of everyday living? I’ve melted tapes, destroyed CDs, dropped Discmen, and let iPod batteries perish. But I reserve the worst punishment for my headphones. The causes of death for the roughly one million pairs I have owned read like a horror novel: slashed, stomped, drowned, or just plain destroyed.

So what’s a person who wants decent sound, but can’t justify spending a ton of money, to do?

Get Sony MDR-AS20j Active Style Headphones with Soft Loop Hangers, immediately. Bask in the wonder of attractive headphones that sound wonderful and actually cost very little!

The soft loops allow the earbuds to rest comfortably and securely in your ears, even during an intense workout.  After testing them in the gym and on the local running trail, the phones stayed on and didn’t irritate me at all. I was better able to focus my effort on exercise instead of fidgeting with my earbuds. The sound is full for the size of the earphones, and I don’t have to have my iPod on maximum volume to hear clearly. In addition to costing little and sounding swell, these headphones are perspiration (sweat for the guys) and weather resistant.

Not only do they look good, but in 2009 they won a Gold iF Product Design Award from the iF International Forum Design, a “best of the best” honor which is considered the “Design Oscar.”

As great as these features are, the biggest selling point for me was the low price of less than $13.00.  With a price like that, I can stock up on extra pairs so I’m prepared the next time they get tossed in the washing machine; or left on the airplane; or stuck in a jacket zipper; or crushed by the car, or…oh hell.

You get the point.
